Saint Francis Home began in 1973 as a social ministry of the Catholic Diocese of Richmond. A Virginia licensed Assisted Living community with 85 residents, the sacred mission has always been to serve the elderly of limited financial means regardless of race, religion, or national origin. We strive to engender respect and love as soon as one walks on campus because our care is based on the fundamental Catholic belief that human life is sacred, and every person is precious. From our gathering rooms and chapel to inviting outdoor balconies and landscaped grounds, our community is designed to make life more comfortable and a little bit more connected.
In the Saint Francis community, every resident traditionally enjoys an “all-inclusive rate” that includes nutritious meals, personal care, access to a variety of amenities, the opportunity to personalize the resident’s room so it feels like home, and no rate increases in response to changing health needs. Care services include 24-hour licensed care staff, assists with daily-living activities, medication management, and a nurse-call system. Housekeeping provides daily cleaning of every room by trained housekeepers and weekly laundry service. Programs and activities include options for most every interest, age, and ability with community rooms, activity center, and library, each of which invite residents and visitors to relax, gather and socialize. The Concierge is a knowledgeable staff member who assists with transportation and other resident services. An onsite chaplain and a beautiful chapel means the worship center remains open daily, with Mass and Rosary services, plus other Christian services. Courtyards, gardens, and patio afford fresh air, bird watching, and inviting outdoor spaces—including an elevated wheelchair-accessible garden.
Our accommodations vary because preferences and budgets vary. Ranging from our Private rooms with a private bath to private rooms with a shared hall bath, monthly rates are between $5000 and $2500.
