I delight in bringing together people and ideas to make the world a better place. I believe in the immense potential of all human beings to contribute their unique strengths to the world, no matter how old they are, their level of education, background, and challenges. I’ve had several careers over my lifetime, ranging from primary school teacher, to graduate school and eldercare educator, to editor, to fashion retailer, to university administrator, to career/life transitions counselor, to published author of three books, including Career & Caregiving: Empowering the Shadow Workforce of Family Caregivers, to regional education and engagement director of long-term care communities. I have served as president of the California Career Development Association and as co-coordinator of Marin Activity Professionals. I have conducted over 200 Careerwell interviews with industry experts throughout the world. Presently I conduct life-story video interviews with elders through MemoryVideo.com and write a weekly intergenerational storytelling blog. I earned an EdD in International & Multicultural Education, an M.A. in Counseling, an M.A. in Urban Teaching, and Activity Coordinator Certification by the State of California.
